In this photograph the tall machine is extracting the sheet metal piles used to form a cofferdam for the construction of the beach access stairwells through the rock armour. This is the Garford Road stairwell which is nearing completion. Please note that the stairwell will be fenced securely to prevent unauthorised access to the construction site until the works are complete.
The other machines are supporting their removal once lifted out of the ground.
To the left of the tall machine you can see the stairwell side before the rock armour is completed creating a safe access point to the beach.
The Molyneux Road and Splash Point stairwells are progressing well and they will have their sheet metal piles removed soon
